Russ Anderson has 44 years in the fire service, with the last fifteen as a career chief for two different combination departments in MA. As Captain of Southwick Fire, he was the training officer for his 45 member call department for 10 years before becoming Chief of Granby MA. He is certified to the Chief Fire Officer level and obtained MA credentialed chief certification and EMTB. As president of Hampshire county Fire Defense, he was instrumental in revitalizing a core firefighter skills training program designed for those towns that cannot attend area academies. Russ has been involved in developing two cargo container-type live-fire facilities. He has been a speaker at the Western MA EMS conference. Also wrote articles for Fire ground 360 and created Southwick’s Citizen Fire Academy. Previously Russ was the owner of Flashpoint Communication, serving the presentation needs of the corporate 100 through New England, producing sales meetings and new product launches. Russ also sits on the MA Fire Chiefs Professional Development Conference committee and is the District 11 representative to the Board of Directors for the Fire Chiefs of Massachusetts.
